Auburn Academy

Founded in 1919, Auburn is a co-educational Christian boarding high school in Washington State’s South Puget Sound region of the Pacific Northwest.

Walla Walla Creative Co. has worked with Auburn for over three decades, solidifying their brand, and helping market their message to prospective students and parents, develop alumni relations, and promote fundraising events.

 

Three decades after helping Auburn standardize their legacy brand, Walla Walla Creative Co. returned to help review, refresh, and further refine. The updated logo retains the earlier version’s mark and color palette but gets a fresh, bold typographic signature and new environment treatment, increasing legibility and usability and moving the brand forward gently without losing legacy connections.

For added flexibility and presence, an alternate version of the logo sets the mark in a circle, giving it more weight at small sizes and when used alongside other logos. This circled mark is also used in horizontal versions of the logo.

 
 

Walla Walla Creative Co. has applied the brand across a broad array of custom ad specialties.

 

Auburn Alumni Weekend gets its own sub-branded campaign each year, with advertising, posters, and direct mail, as well as social media assets.

 

Auburn’s sport persona has always been The Falcons, but the brand was an hodgepodge collection of clipart and inconsistent type and iconography that had accreted over the decades. Walla Walla Creative Co. went through a complete branding process and developed a clean, professional “proball” design that will become Auburn’s official sports brand.

 

Each year Walla Walla Creative Co. creates a full custom sub-brand for Hearts of Gold, Auburn’s annual major fundraising event, then produces an invitation mailer with response card in custom envelopes, social media assets, auction catalog & program materials, plus follow-up thank you card.

 

Auburn also runs multiple traditional seasonal campaigns, each including a fundraising letter with customized carrier envelope and self-mailing remittance envelope.

 

The Auburn Committee of 100 is a group of friends and alumni who pool their ongoing financial support for greater impact. Members of the Committee get together each year for brunch and to vote on how to allocate the annual Committee funds.

The committee gets its own sub-branding and annual campaign with direct mail member invitation and RSVP packet, event program and materials, and social media assets.

 

Auburn’s recurring monthly donation campaign, 10 For Them, focuses on turning entry-level small donors into a dependable funding stream with personal emotional investment.

Walla Walla Creative Co. designed a coordinating sub-brand around the visual idea of a coin slot and heart, then produced multiple marketing pieces for use at public events.
