Animal Element

For over a quarter century, Animal Element has formulated and compounded natural supplement products that provide horses and dogs the nutrition and support they need to perform and thrive.

Andy Dressler and Mark Kaylor came to Walla Walla Creative Co. knowing they needed a product line packaging design update. By the time they had explained their objectives and constraints, they knew they’d found a partner team to help develop and build a brand that reflects their experience, values, and understanding, not just what’s in the bags.

In addition to package design for the complete product line, Walla Walla Creative Co. developed a new brand identity both for Animal Element and for Vitl Supplements (a new sub-brand for the product line itself), including logos, business papers, website, promotional and sales materials, signage, vehicle graphics, and apparel.

The pair of logos are designed to complement each other and work together but also stand alone as needed. They are clean and simple, evoking technology and modern scientific rigor as well as friendliness and trustworthiness.

Stylized leaves represent the products’ natural ingredient sourcing and the company’s focus on health and vitality through supporting and enabling the body’s natural systems. They also provide brand continuity, referencing a similar element in the original logo.

Both logos feature lightly modified custom typography based on characters from Argentinian designer Julieta Ulanovsky’s bold, clean, geometric sans-serif Montserrat font.

The logos share a of a pair of vibrant greens, reinforcing a focus on nature and purity. The Vitl logo adds a limited set of five additional colors, each associated with a specific product, and sometimes deployed in a color band stripe under the logo, referencing the product line while leveraging common associations with supplements.

Handley’s new website includes sections for each service segment, plus information about the business, praise from their clients, and a secure contact form.

Every worksite is an example of work product success and values, so site signage is important. And Handley’s small fleet of work vehicles and trailers is another important on-site and on-the-go brand building opportunity. WWCCo created site signage and carefully outfitted each vehicle and trailer to take advantage of this visibility both at a distance and in person, representing the company while also building client confidence in Handley’s services.

Of course, with their custom-branded apparel, Charles and Nicholas and their whole crews are also fully outfitted brand ambassadors, themselves.
